Another interesting fact about Buddha is that he was born in what is now modern-day Nepal, in the sixth century BCE. He was born in the Lumbini garden, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site today. This peaceful garden is believed to be the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama, who later became the Buddha. It's a place of pilgrimage and cultural significance for Buddhists around the world, and visitors can see a pillar with an inscription by the Indian Emperor Ashoka, dating back to the 3rd century BCE, marking the spot as Buddha's birthplace.
